HAWAI‘I’S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE REMAINS AT 2.6 PERCENT IN DECEMBER

Jobs Increase by 5,000 Over-the-Year

HONOLULU — The Hawai‘i State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations (DLIR) today announced that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for December was 2.6 percent, the same as in November. Statewide, 647,000 were employed and 17,550 unemployed in December for a total seasonally adjusted labor force of 664,550. Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.5 percent in December, also the same as in November.
