HAWAII’S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE DROPS

          TO 3.4 PERCENT IN SEPTEMBER       

State’s Lowest Rate Since March 2008

 

HONOLULU — The Hawaii State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations (DLIR) today announced that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for September was 3.4 percent, down from 3.5 percent in August. The last time the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was at 3.4 percent was in March 2008. Statewide, 651,900 were employed and 23,150 unemployed in September for a total seasonally adjusted labor force of 675,050. Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 5.1 percent in September, the same as in August.
