HONOLULU — The Hawaii State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations (DLIR) today announced the implementation of an automated, electronic system to help ensure compliance with workers’ compensation law. The DLIR developed the system in partnership with the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI).
“We are grateful that NCCI stepped forward to offer help in developing a database management system that will provide compliance information through daily electronic transmittals into our workers’ compensation database,” said DLIR Director Dwight Takamine. “The improvement will enhance enforcement of workers’ compensation law and the health and economic protections intended by that law, as well as ensure employers are timely credited with carrying workers’ compensation insurance.”
