The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Division was informed that a Hawaii applicant for unemployment benefits received an email from the Unemployment Advisory Department <[email protected]> indicating the applicant’s initial application for benefits was received, but not completed, and provided links to continue the unemployment filing process.
This email is a scam.
It has been used in other states. Ignore it and do not click on the links as the website is requesting personal identifying information that is not used for filing for unemployment benefits in the State of Hawaii. The Hawaii UI Division would never request personal identifying information using this method. Moreover, unemployment claims are filed directly through the Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Unemployment Insurance Division and not through any third party or website offering such services.
