Note: UI benefits for self-employed persons, bona fide independent contractors, and others who are disqualified from receiving UI for COVID-19-related reasons may be covered through the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program under the CARES Act. WHEN SHOULD I APPLY FOR UI?
You must be either unemployed or working less than your normal hours and earning less than you weekly benefit amount. To determine your weekly benefit amount, please visit the Benefits Estimator by clicking here.
HOW DO I FILE FOR UI?
You can file a claim online by visiting uiclaims.hawaii.gov.
CAN I FILE A CLAIM IN-PERSON?
Not at this time. Due to COVID-19, only online claims are accepted.

Username and passwords can be recovered online at uiclaims.hawaii.gov. Use the appropriate links to self-recover your username or password. If you are still having problems, please call your local claims office.
