PEUC 2 FAQs

Q: What is PEUC 2?
A: PEUC 2 provides 11 weeks of additional benefits to eligible claimants that have exhausted their PEUC 1 (PEUC that offered 13 weeks of benefits) starting the week ending January 2, 2021.
Q: How long is PEUC 2?
A: A: The duration of the PEUC 2 program is from December 27, 2020 to March 14, 2021. The first payable week is the week ending January 2, 2021. The last payable week is the week ending March 13, 2021. There is a phaseout period from March 14, 2021 to April 10, 2021 for claimants that have a remaining PEUC 2 balance and received benefits for the week ending March 13, 2021. Thus, if you receive benefits for the week ending March 13, 2021 and have a remaining PEUC 2 balance, you are eligible to participate in the phaseout period and may continue to collect PEUC through week ending April 10, 2021.
Q: Will PEUC 2 include the $300 plus-up (FPUC)?
A: Yes, the $300 plus-up or FPUC will be included in PEUC 2 payments from the week ending January 2, 2021 to March 13, 2021.
Q: How do I apply for PEUC 2?
A: You do not need to apply for PEUC 2. Instead, the UI Division will mail you a revised Monetary Determination letter that will include your PEUC 2 benefits. The UI Division is processing PEUC 2 claims in batches, so it may take up to two weeks to receive your revised Monetary Determination.

Please login to your account to ensure that your address is up to date.

Q: Is there a faster way to see if my Monetary Determination has been updated?
A: To check if your revised Monetary Determination has been issued, you can login to your account and go to Claim Inquiry to view your balance.
Q: What do I do after I receive my revised Monetary Determination or see my balance is increased?
A: You can file for your claim certifications going back to the week ending January 2, 2021.
Q: What do I do after I exhaust my regular UI benefits?
A: You can file for PEUC 1 (13 weeks of benefits). After you exhaust your PEUC 1 benefits, the UI Division will mail you your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination. After you receive your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination, you can file claim certifications going back to the week that you exhausted your PEUC 1 benefits. The $300 plus-up will be included in all eligible benefit payments until the week ending March 13, 2021. If you have a remaining PEUC 2 balance and receive benefits the week ending March 13, 2021, you may collect the remainder of your PEUC 2 balance until April 10, 2021.
Q: What do I do if I exhausted my PEUC 1 benefits before December 26, 2020 and elected to wait for PEUC 2?
A: The UI Division will mail you your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination. After you receive your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination, you can file claim certifications going back to January 2, 2021. Weeks after you exhausted your PEUC 1 benefits and before January 2, 2021 will be disqualified. The $300 plus-up will be included in all eligible benefit payments until the week ending March 13, 2021. If you have a remaining PEUC 2 balance and receive benefits the week ending March 13, 2021, you may collect the remainder of your PEUC 2 balance until April 10, 2021.
Q: What do I do if I exhausted my PEUC 1 benefits after December 26, 2020?
A: The UI Division will mail you your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination. After you receive your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination, you can file claim certifications going back to January 2, 2021. The $300 plus-up will be included in all eligible benefit payments until the week ending March 13, 2021. If you have a remaining PEUC 2 balance and receive benefits the week ending March 13, 2021, you may collect the remainder of your PEUC 2 balance until April 10, 2021.
Q: What do I do if I am receiving EB 20 benefits?
A: You need to exhaust your EB 20 benefits before you can qualify for PEUC 2. If you exhaust your EB 20 benefits before March 13, 2021, the UI Division will mail you your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination. After you receive your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination, you can file claim certifications going back to the week that you exhausted your EB 20 benefits. The $300 plus-up will be included in all eligible benefit payments until the week ending March 13, 2021. If you have a remaining PEUC 2 balance and receive benefits the week ending March 13, 2021, you may collect the remainder of your PEUC 2 balance until April 10, 2021.
Q: What do I do if I exhausted my EB 20 benefits?
A: If you exhaust your EB 20 benefits before March 13, 2021, the UI Division will mail you your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination. After you receive your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination, you can file claim certifications going back to the week that you exhausted your EB 20 benefits. The $300 plus-up will be included in all eligible benefit payments until the week ending March 13, 2021. If you have a remaining
PEUC 2 balance and receive benefits the week ending March 13, 2021, you may collect the remainder of your PEUC 2 balance until April 10, 2021.

A: If you received a letter from PUA informing you about PEUC 2, the UI Division will mail you your PEUC 2 Monetary Determination.
