HONOLULU — Due to the suspension of federal government services earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has revised the release date for September 2013 employment and unemployment data The data will now be released on Nov. 22, coinciding with the release of October data.
The Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’ Research and Statistics Office works closely with the BLS to produce the monthly employment and unemployment information. The federal government shutdown from Oct. 1 to 16 suspended BLS data collection and analysis activities. The delay of the September employment and unemployment data applies to all the states.
