DCD eCMS Modernization Project Update (12/1/2020)Posted on Dec 1, 2020 in News
COVID-19 has made 2020 a challenging year for DCD and Hawaii in general. Many of DCD’s subject matter experts (SMEs) were reassigned to the Unemployment Insurance Division to help process unemployment claims. Although this affected the DCD’s eCMS Modernization Project and DCD in general, this did not curtail or diminish the project from moving forward. During March to August, DCD switched from designing and gathering requirements for the Worker’s Compensation Case Management to designing and gathering requirements for the Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) and Prepaid Health Care (PHC) systems. DataHouse has been crucial and obliging in keeping the project thriving.
Currently, DCD and DataHouse have been working with the Insurance Carriers to provide a means to submit WC-1s electronically. DataHouse has been holding “office hours” with a pilot group of Carriers to provide assistance and answer questions. These office hours will end December 17, 2020. Additionally, DCD has been busy normalizing data and content from both DocuShare and Lotus Notes into the new data repository – IBM FileNet and DataCap.
2021 is a new year and, taking a scene from the movie “Heartbreak Ridge”, DCD will “improvise, adapt and overcome” despite COVID-19. In 2021, many new changes will be benchmarked as Content and Case Management systems are targeted to go-live later that year. Additionally, DCIS (mainframe) data will be mapped, normalized, designed, and migrated.
