Hawaiʻi Law Prohibits Housing Discrimination Based on Participation in the Section 8 Voucher Program

Beginning May 1, 2023, Hawaiʻi law prohibits landlords from discriminating based on an applicant’s or tenant’s participation in a housing voucher program. Landlords can be fined up to $2,000 for a first offense and more more subsequent offenses.  For more information see Haw. Rev. Stat. § 368F-2  and the materials below:
