UI Adjudication
The UI Adjudication section investigates issues that may delay your benefit payments. They make decisions about your eligibility based on UI laws and rules.
A claims examiner will review your case if:
- You quit or were fired from your last job
- There are questions about your ability or availability to work
- You are not ready, willing, or able to look for and accept work
- You are not registered for work
If you were overpaid benefits, a claims examiner will decide if you’re still eligible and whether the overpayment involved fraud.
Telephone Appointments
You will get a phone call at your scheduled appointment time. The call may come from a restricted number, so please be ready to answer.

The Adjudication section of the UI Division investigates and resolves issues holding up the payment of your benefits based on the UI laws and Administrative Rules. If you were discharged or quit your last job, a claims examiner must resolve your eligibility for benefits. If there are questions about your ability or availability for work, your readiness or willingness to seek and accept work, or you are not registered for work, a claims examiner must determine your eligibility for benefits.
In some situations, there may be an overpayment of benefits in which a claims examiner must resolve your continued eligibility and whether benefits were obtained fraudulently.

- Repeated violations of rules and/or creating multiple appointments, continually creating appointments in the incorrect section will result in the in-ability to make future appointments.
