The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR) is dedicated to promoting the economic security, well-being, and productivity of Hawai’i’s workforce. DLIR strives to foster positive labor-management relationships and ensure compliance with key employment laws, including those related to workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, apprenticeship training, wage and hour standards, and industrial relations.
DLIR consists of 5 divisions, one office (Research & Statistics), seven attached agencies, and three informal advisory boards (Prepaid Health Care Advisory Board, State Apprenticeship Council, and the HIOSH Advisory Board), with headquarters at the Princess Ke’elikolani Building at 830 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu, HI 96813.
