Certificate of Fitness (Explosives and Pyrotechnics)

On November 12, 2018, Certificate of Fitness examination fees increased to $225.00 and renewal fees increased to $75.00.
In accordance with Section 12-58-1, Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR), a revised application for Certificate of Fitness for Explosives with new submission requirements was released in January 2003. Please see Section 12-56, HAR for updates in fees.
Included with the revised application and procedures was a proposed amendment to Chapter 12-58, HAR. This amendment became effective on January 10, 2003.
Certificate of Fitness (COF) Renewals
Stickers for annual renewal will no longer be mailed out to the COF holder. To obtain the sticker the COF holder can either:
- Mail in their COF card for updating, or
- Bring their COF card (and the letter notifying them that they are approved for renewal) in person to the HIOSH office (or the nearest DLIR District Office):
