HLRB Bids Aloha to Chairperson Marcus R. Oshiro
On October 31, 2024, Marcus R. Oshiro, Chairperson and Representative of the Public, retired from the Hawaiʻi Labor Relations Board. Chair Oshiro joined the Board in October 2017. During his seven-year tenure, Chair Oshiro made it his mission to reduce the backlog of cases, streamline processes, and increase public access to and awareness of the Board’s work. Under his leadership, the Board and its staff accomplished these goals by eliminating a backlog of more than 100 cases, revising and consolidating the Board’s Hawaiʻi Administrative Rules, the first comprehensive review of the Board’s rules in more than 40 years, redesigning the Board’s website, and developing publications, including reports, brochures, and FAQs, to inform and provide greater outreach to the public. After nearly 30 years of service to the State, and more importantly, to the people of Hawaiʻi, HLRB bids aloha to Chairperson Marcus R. Oshiro. A hui hou.
