State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES)
What is SIDES?
The State Information Data Exchange System is an electronic tool to help employers respond to state unemployment insurance (UI) requests, quickly, easily and accurately. Employer’s that register with SIDES E-Response will receive email notification the day after an employee files for unemployment benefits. The employer can then log on to the web based application to provide information regarding the individual’s job separation. This process replaces the current paper-based method of requesting information via mail (UC-BP-35, Request for Separation Information). This process will significantly increase timeliness and accuracy in information received by UI, helping employers maintain a lower tax rate and lessen the need to appeal benefit charges.
